In 2012, I hosted this with a smaller audience. I used a point system that accounted for Win/Loss, difference in predicted score and actual score, and SEC-only games. This year will be different, so please read below!
2013 Point System:
1. 1 (one) point shall be awarded for the accurate prediction of a win or a loss for SEC Non-Conference Games (SEC vs Non-SEC).
2. 2 (two) points shall be awarded for the accurate prediction of a win or a loss for SEC Conference Games (SEC vs SEC).
3. 5 (five) points shall be awarded for the accurate prediction of a win or a loss for Bonus Top 25 Weekly Picks (Non-SEC Top 25 vs Non-SEC Top 25 - or - any other Non-SEC vs Non-SEC in its place).
4. 10 (ten) points shall be awarded for the accurate prediction of a win or a loss for SEC Championship Week (SEC East #1 vs SEC West #1).
5. 15 (fifteen) points shall be awarded for the accurate prediction of a win or a loss for all Non-SEC, Non-BCS Bowl Games.
6. 25 (twenty-five) points shall be awarded for the accurate prediction of a win or a loss for all SEC, Non-BCS Bowl Games.
7. 35 (thirty-five) points shall be awarded for the accurate prediction of a win or a loss for all Non-SEC, BCS Bowl Games.
8. 50 (fifty!) points shall be awarded for the accurate prediction of a win or a loss for all SEC BCS Bowl Games.
9. 100 (one-hundred) points, minus difference in predicted score and actual score, shall be awarded for the accurate prediction of a win or a loss of the BCS Championship Game (BCS #1 vs BCS #2)
9a. Example: Joe predicts TeamA will win 50-30. Team A actually wins 25-10. To calculate the score, you would take the higher numbered score from each team and subtract the smaller number from it, then add the two totals and subtract from 100.
Joe's score = 100 - [(50-25) + (30-10)]. Or 55 Points.
9b. The BCS Prediction will only be counted for the top contenders within 25 points of each other at the end of the season.
10. Competitor's W/L prediction shall be submitted the Wednesday BEFORE the weekend of the games. If your prediction is not submitted, your prediction will automatically be logged as a "tie" for every game.
**Guidelines for Tiebreaker Scenario at End of Season**
Ties between 1st, 2nd, or 3rd places will result in the following:
1. Joe (500 Points)
1. Jack (500 Points)
3. Andre (499 Points)
4. Peter (300 Points)
Joe and Jack would be awarded 1st Place, Andre would be awarded 3rd. There would be no "second place" winner in this scenario.
Oh, and btw, there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
